Votive candles were invented centuries ago, designed to ritualize a special intention or promise, or to express thanks or devotion. Today, votives are still used in this way, but also used for decorating and providing ambiance. 

At Petroglyph, our customers paint these small pieces in a variety of ways; sometimes giving them as gifts or favors, or using them to commemorate a special event.
