1. Choose your piece
2. Pick your paint - at least one light color and one dark color
3. Gather your tools - paint brushes and an etching tool
4. Paint your entire piece with a lighter color and let it dry
5. Paint your piece with the darker color and do not let it dry completely
6. Create your design with an etching tool before the paint dries
7. Gently scrape through the darker color to reveal the lighter color underneath
